THE PROJECT “LUKAS.” JAKUB SKOKAN, A CZECH PHOTOGRAPHER, CAPTURES THE STORY OF AN AUTISTIC BOY / Photo by Jakub SKOKAN

“This is the first time when four exhibits of Czech authors have been united in one large-scale event. The undoubted star of The Days is the fashion photographer Robert Vano, who is bringing 40 photographs from his legendary Platinum Collection,” said Anna HAIDAI, spokesperson for the Culture and Photography Center PhotoCULT, which actually masterminds the Czech Photography Days, also sponsored by the Czech Center in Kyiv.

Thus, at A-HOUSE gallery Kyivites can see Robert Vano with his Platinum Collection of unique photoprints, executed in the nowadays rarely used technique of platinotype. The author uses his original method to create pathways between the worlds of fashion and art, offering his own interpretations of beauty of the body.

Martin Tuma, a representative of contemporary photography, will exhibit his works from the series “Landscape a Posteriori,” which is a visual reflection of the function of photography and exploration of its nature.

The documentary block of the exhibit will be presented by two young artists, Milan Bures and Jakub Skokan. The latter’s project “Lukas” tells a story of an autistic boy, showing how he relates to his family and the world. The photos from this series both show touching moments from the child’s life and inspire a feeling of intimacy and empathy.

All the exhibits will be on display for over two weeks at A-HOUSE gallery, 6/7, Striletska Street.

The masterminds have also prepared a film presentation program which includes films about famous Czech photographers and talks on the history of Czech photography. The presenter is Viktoria Myronenko, a historian and art critic, teacher of the history of photography.
