988: Prince Volodymyr orders Rus’-Ukraine baptized.

1385: The Polish Kingdom and the Grand Duchy of Lithuania make the Union of Krewo whereby the Ukrainian lands become part of the kingdom.

1581: Ivan Fiodorov completes printing the Bible of Ostroh, the first unabridged edition in Old Church Slavonic.

1775: The Russian tsar signs a manifesto on the legitimacy of liquidation of Zaporozhian Sich.

1946: The Central Committee of the All-Union Communist Party (Bolsheviks) adopts a decree on the Soviet magazines Zvezda and Leningrad.
