Exhibition features art works of a young artist Vitalii Vnukov, which, according to the author, depict “the post-apocalypse world, where radical changes in the technological advance cause the decline.” Vnukov works in the genre of scrub-art. Art works presented in “Dzyga” are made of scrap – old sewing machines and typewriters, TV sets and computers. The author offers to his audience to meet the intricate variations of the relationships of a person and the world computerized network with computer-human interfaces.

“Creative work of Vnukov reflects his search,” said director of the art gallery Volodymyr Kaufman at the opening of the exhibition. “The art works that he presented at this exhibition are a kind of theoretical story, an attempt to understand things that we once ignored and remnants of those things we once considered a part of our everyday life… Nobody has ever wondered how an electric stove with a coil filament worked, because it was simple and so easily available. When it becomes exotic and then turns into garbage, and when garbage again turns into something striking, this striking character makes the author reconsider everything in a different way. He has then to prove that our history and our future are right here in these things… Mankind finds it impossible to live without artificial intelligence, accelerating the process of modifying individual self, trying to emulate the artificial intelligence. We want to revive the cyber space, realizing how with the help of the created machines we destroy ourselves from the inside and even realizing our criminal activity before the world we still emulate them,” said Vnukov.

You can measure the degree of degradation presented by Vitalii Vnukov in art gallery “Dzyga” (Virmenska Street, 35) until February 3.
