Where there is no law, but every man does what is right in his own eyes, there is the least of real liberty

Fir Cone Cake for Sweet Tooth

1 December, 1998 - 00:00

In order to make this simple composition resembling a Christmas torte,
you will need the following: a candle angel, fir cones, evergreen needles,
artificial fir, golden foil ribbons, red ribbon for a bow, golden glass
beads, thick cardboard, and a blue paper band.

We start by gluing the cardboard box of the needed diameter. The ratio
of the height and diameter is one to three. The upper deck of the box we
make smaller and tape it all together with a blue paper strap. We will
use golden glass beads to trimming the composition's ends. Then we place
the materials according to the following principle: we put the bright and
large elements to the lower deck, while the smaller ones will be on the
upper deck. We strap the golden foil ribbons with red bows in a few places.
Then, we fix the fir cones mixed with artificial fir tree branches on the
upper part of the composition. The upper crown of the portico, which fences
the pedestal of the candle angel, consists of small fir cones and artificial
fir tree branches. To complete our treat we glue a couple of red stars
to the front end and place the candle angel atop the pyramid. And remember:
no cream writing on the cake; save it for what the guests will eat. You
only have to light the Christmas candle when needed.

You can cook this cake long before the party without thinking about
its shelf life. Bon appetit!
