Kobzars from all over Ukraine sing together

Kozatska lira (Cossack Lyre) festival gathered kobzars [kobza-playing minstrels] from all over Ukraine on the banks of a lake at the village of Stritivka, Kaharlyk raion, Kyiv oblast, to mark the 20th anniversary of Ukraine’s only school where this minstrel craft is upheld and taught. Organized by the benevolent foundation Yedyny svit (A Single World), this festival boasted 176 kobzars performing Taras Shevchenko’s The Mighty Dnieper and fact was laid down in The Book of Records of Ukraine, reports The Day’s Andrii NESTERENKO.
