“Play in Evidence”

That’s the title of the exhibition which recently opened at the Jacob Greter Art Center. This exhibition has three-part concept, dynamic exposure, which perfectly reflects the whole meaning of a “play” in the gallery space (the exhibition changes every week).

The core of the exhibition is the paintings by the Swedish artist of Russian origin Elena Viikholm. She has already had more than 50 exhibitions in 13 countries and is a member of the National Unions of Artists in Russia and Sweden. In Kyiv the artist presented her paintings and sculptures, which are normally stored in the Swedish castle Arsta, the Russian Embassy in Sweden, Stockholm Military Archive, and numerous private collections. According to the organizers of the exhibition, graphic and artistic compositions made by the artist are, on the one hand, extremely simple in their symbols and, on the other hand, are quite ambiguous in images and associations.

A sensitive element of the exhibition was the performance of Ukrainian performance maker Taisia Melnyk, which is harmoniously in line with the exhibition. “It is the creative mix that thoroughly covers life and reflects it, thus making it possible to perceive art in trigonometry. I have long wanted to create something real, alive, where everyone in the audience is both a spectator and a participant of the exhibition and the installation-performance,” said Taisia MELNYK.

Creative tandem of Elena Viikholm and Taisia Melnyk gives the audience a chance to perceive the art in volume, touch it, and become a part of the creation of life that echoes the trends and interests of today. “Play in Evidence” tells a story of interaction of countries, spaces, people, and arts. Ukrainian painter Zoriana Harbar also presents her art work within the framework of the project. Her paintings evoke thoughts of eternity and the place of women in the modern world. The exhibition will be open until October 6.
