In the era of information society and rapidly-developing information technologies, authenticity and naturalness arouse surprise and admiration at the same time. So it is small wonder that the international ethnical festival Dreamland has won in the past nine years the fame of a Ukrainian oasis in the midst of a megalopolis, where you can feel live history, hear live music, and see live people. Incidentally, this event is going to take place on June 22 and 23, by tradition, on Kyiv’s Field of Songs (Spivoche Pole).

Attention! Dreamland is going to show for the first time a Crimean folklore scene, an exclusive ethnic program of the group Tanok na Maidani Congo, the premiere performance of the participants in the Country’s Voice competition Ilaria (Roman Hrynkiv and Oleksa Kabanov) and Vasyl Zhadan (accompanied by the Gypsy punk panic band Top Orchestra). Besides, as the fest is part of the Euro-2012 soccer championship program, a fan zone will be established for especially fervent supporters. The fan zone will be showing live coverage of soccer matches.

According to tradition, Dreamland will also include a plethora of ethnic and world music, a children’s playground, an alley of masters, literary and theatrical presentations, Cossack-style entertainments, and an Ethno Fashion collection of Ukrainian ethnic and ancient clothes (last year visitors liked this initiative so much that the organizers decided to re-stage the event).

Incidentally, Den/The Day is also going to take part in Dreamland’s literary program by presenting its library project. These are the fest’s landmarks, so to speak.
