Oct. 27 1659: In Pereiaslav Yurii Khmelnytsky and the Muscovite government sign an agreement regulating the political and legal status of Cossack Ukraine in the Muscovite state.
Oct. 28 2004: On the 60th anniversary of Ukraine’s liberation from the Nazis, a military parade and veterans’ parade take place in Kyiv.
