Natalia Dziubenko-Mace, a writer, poet, journalist, and the author of several poetry collections and the well-known novel Andrii Pervozvannyi (St. Andrew-the-First-Called) is celebrating her birthday. For many years she was a pillar of support for her husband, the outstanding scholar James Mace, who was the first journalist to reveal the truth about the Holodomor to the public at large in Ukraine.
Dziubenko-Mace’s latest collection of poetry entitled The Day of the Cold Sun was recently published by the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy Publishing House. It contains a dedication to her beloved husband: "My sunny friend, my love! Now you are in the skies of Ukraine forever."
Mace’s wife is continuing the work that he began. In collaboration with the editorial board of The Day , she is working on preparing an expanded edition of her husband’s collection of published and unpublished articles, Day and Eternity of James Mace . Together with the chief editor of our newspaper, Larysa Ivshyna, she attended the premiere of a documentary about Mace in Chernihiv.
On behalf of the editorial board and the readers of The Day we convey our best wishes to Natalia Dziubenko-Mace on her birthday.
May inspiration never leave you! May your friends bring you happiness! May your life be full of optimism and new impressions! Let every day be one of spiritual harmony filled with the smiles of the people who are dear to you!
