Ukrainian Santa Clauses boost spirits of passengers

Musicians of Kyiv Academic Municipal Brass Band were performing the world Christmas hits, jazz compositions, waltzes, and Ukrainian carols for two hours. The idea is a brainchild of the Chief Conductor and Artistic Director of Municipal Brass Orchestra Viacheslav Korobko, and it was supported by the administration of the airport. Korobko told The Day that the musicians decided to boost spirits of the passengers who were waiting for flights. They put on red hats, an attribute of Santa Claus, and made a surprise not only for children, but also adults by performing the world and Ukrainian classical works. With the first sounds hundreds of people approached the musicians, recording the unusual concert on cell phones and tablets. The passengers admitted that it was the first time they were seen off with live music, and these moments will stay in their memory for the rest of their lives.

Incidentally, the repertoire of Kyiv Academic Municipal Brass Band is huge and versatile: from marches to waltzes and mazurkas, from opera arias and operettas to symphonies, jazz music, salsa, tango, rumba (1,200 works). Virtuoso performance and perfect coordination create a unique festive atmosphere.
