1875: Chernivtsi University starts functioning.

1894: The Ukrainian National Association (UNA) is founded in Shamokin, Pennsylvania.

1947: Soviet troops retreat from Zaporizhia after pitched battles with the Wehrmacht.

1947: CC CP(B)U adopts a decree establishing seven task forces to liquidate members of the OUN central and local leadership.
