The Dignity Ribbon event was held in the Taras Shevchenko Park in front of the Red Building of Shevchenko National University in Kyiv.

During the event, its participants spread two 30-meter-long ribbons, yellow and blue, at the monument to Shevchenko. They also handed out smaller ribbons in national colors to passersby and invited them to join the event.

“We marched from the Shevchenko Park to Drahomanov University where we were joined by its students, then to Independence Square, and then we went to the Ukrainian House,” the event’s participant, Student Assembly activist Viktor told The Day. “We do not support any political party. We organized this march to appeal to all citizens who sympathize with the Euromaidan to be not afraid of wearing its symbols. There are many people who support the revolutionary values, values of social change, but unfortunately, we have had many cases of people persecuted because they wore national symbols and symbols of the EU. Therefore, we appealed to people to be not afraid of doing that.”

According to participants, more than 50 of them carried the huge banner. Motorists and passersby welcomed the march, with motorists signaling and some passersby joining it.
