Documents on the guitar’s history in Ukraine went on display in Kyiv for the first time ever

The Central State Archives Museum of Literature and Arts (TsDAMLM) of Ukraine hosted concert-lecture “The Guitar in Ukraine: History of a Performing Art” lately, as part of its literary and musical project called the “Artistic Encounters at the Archives Museum.” The event featured winners of international and national competitions, students of Kyiv National Culture and Arts University’s Professor Viktoria Zhadko. Documents from the TsDAMLM’s collections which tell the story of guitar music in Ukraine went on display for the first time.

“The archives museum’s collections include music works written for the guitar by Ukrainian composers. The guitar that once belonged to prominent Ukrainian poet Volodymyr Sosiura and is now a museum exhibit was put on display as well,” the TsDAMLM of Ukraine’s director Olena Kulchii stressed.
