All of us at The Day would like to thank you, our readers, for your support, interest, and comments. All of us at our parent Ukrainian and Russian-language daily are happy that this year has made it possible for us to present you with at least some of what we have to offer in English. We have been thrilled with the responses we have received from every continent except Antarctica. Maybe next year someone down there will also visit us on the web. In any case, it gives us something to look forward to.
 
       
 Your messages and observations have made the first year of our weekly digest both enjoyable and rewarding. In fact, the postindustrial reality of the computer age has fundamentally changed the nature of journalism, making it possible for the reader to be more than a passive audience but a real interactive agent in a shared process whereby information and ideas are exchanged regardless of our physical distance from one another. This is a real revolution and thanks again for going through it together with us.

The news this year in Ukraine has not often been good, and, like the old umpire, we have to call them like we see them. We hope that next year's news will be better for the country we cover and that in the new year all good fortune comes to you, our readers.
