“The Family Circle of Chernihiv Region” is a two-day program of psychological support and rehabilitation for families of fallen and missing soldiers, which is now being developed by the Joint Volunteer Center, the All-Ukrainian Association of Post-Traumatic Psychological Recovery Specialists, psychologists, volunteers, and concerned residents of our city. Regional officials have provided comprehensive assistance in organizing the event. “The Family Circle” will be held in Chernihiv on December 20-21.

Already, over 70 local families have lost their loved ones during the Euromaidan and in the anti-terrorist operation. Some mothers are now alone after losing their only sons and breadwinners, many widows will have to bring up their young children alone, about 30 girls and boys will grow up fatherless. Therefore, the purpose of the project, according to the volunteers, is to support the families of the fallen and missing soldiers. The program of the “Family Circle of Chernihiv Region” will include group and individual consultations by lawyers and psychologists as well as commemoration of the fallen heroes of Chernihiv land.

“We want to hold meetings of the ‘Family Circle of Chernihiv Region’ at least once every six months, so that the families of the fallen and missing soldiers do not feel abandoned by our society,” representative of the Joint Volunteer Center Iryna Berezynets said.
