Heavenly Sotnia will be commemorated on the 40th Day after Death by Mozart’s Requiem Mass

On Monday the Appeal to rectors of higher educational establishments in Ukraine and equally to rectors of analogical establishments in Europe (in particular, in Poland, Austria, and Germany) concerning commemorating of those who were killed in Maidan in Kyiv was approved at the session of administration of the Lviv-based Mykola Lysenko Music Academy. The rector of Lviv Academy, Professor Ihor Pylatiuk told The Day about this. “Those should be requiem concerts in commemoration of the Heavenly Sotnia, whose heroes sacrificed their lives for the liberation struggle and future of our state,” Prof. Pylatiuk says and adds that there will be several such concerts in Lviv, but the main event is scheduled for March 31 – on this day Mozart’s Requiem Mass will be performed in St. George’s Cathedral – for the first time within the walls of this church.
