The musicians will present to the public their new joint creative project, called “Our Partisans. Homin’ Songs,” at the Ukraina Palace, to celebrate the Day of Ukrainian Cossack Host with an eclectic (but also harmonious) musical cocktail. It is a striking example of Ukrainian world music, a mixture of modern technology and rhythms, combined with Ukrainian melodies and well seasoned with turbulent energy.

“I grew up in the Dnieper Ukraine, where I was fortunate to listen to unique Ukrainian polyphonic singing, performed by traditional singers, starting in my early childhood years. It has defined my musical and ideological orientations ever since,” Volodymyr Sherstiuk, bass guitarist of the KOZAK SYSTEM band admitted. “For me, the project seems to be an extension of my childish euphoria that I experienced every time the song was rolling over hills of the Dnipro banks and dissolving in a starry sky...”

“We experienced the history of many generations of our ancestors through the prism of ourselves and contemporary music. It was kind of quest, discovery of truths that were remote in time, but close in spirit,” Taras Chubai said. “What we have been able to do has left a wonderful feeling of being able to look at everything with eyes of a youngster as well as eyes of a mature man.”

The Day has learned from the organizers that the concert will consist of two parts. The first one will see the presentation of Chubai and Kozak System’s joint album HOMIN’ SONGS, while the second part will offer the first complete performance of Our Partisans album, involving Plach Yeremii.

Let us recall that this creative experiment started back in 2013, right after the festival “Train to  Yaremche” ended in Ivano-Frankivsk.
