Ukraine Calls On UN to Focus on Kosovo Problems

Ukraine’s permanent UN representative, Ambassador Valery Kuchynsky stressed that “international forces in Kosovo should pursue a common political strategy” and that “the UN Security Council should work out specific ways to regulate the situation in the region,” reports UNIAN. The Ukrainian diplomat said, “Joint international efforts have brought about positive changes in Kosovo, which inspire hope in further stabilization in the region.” According to Mr. Kuchynsky, “If the political leaders of Kosovo fail to assume part of the responsibility, the region’s progress towards democratic revival will remain in question.”
