Land in Rivne Oblast Can Be Bought and Sold

It is the desire to fill the scanty city coffers that forced the Rivne city council to resolve to launch land privatization. The coming months will see the first four lots auctioned off.

The new stage of communal property privatization has already caused great interest among local businesspeople, many of whom wish to buy downtown land. Local authorities introducing a new stage of privatization say, however, that lots will be sold with caution in order not to spoil urban development plans and not to stimulate land speculation.
