February 6: 1958. The Cinematographer’s Union of Ukraine was created.

February 7: 1927. The Council of Ministers of the USSR approved a decision On Construction of the Dnipro Hydroelectric Power Station.

1995. Ukraine and the Russian Federation signed a treaty On Friendship, Cooperation, and Partnership.

February 8: 1106. Prince Volodymyr Monomachus compiled The Narration, the first didactic fiction in Rus’.

1995. Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine ratified the law On Nuclear Power Use and Nuclear Safety.

February 9: 1918. A peace treaty was signed in Brest-Litovsk by the UNR, Germany, Austria- Hungary, Turkey, and Bulgaria.

1942. Olena Teliha and other representatives of Ukrainian intelligentsia who were members of Melnyk’s OUN, were arrested in Kyiv by the Germans.

February 10: 1900. The Revolutionary Ukrainian Party, the first mass Ukrainian political party in the Russian Empire, was founded.

1940. The first stage of deportation, affecting 220,000 people, began in Western Ukraine.

February 11: 1945. The Yalta Conference of Roosevelt, Churchill, and Stalin ended approving decisions on the partition of Germany among the victors and creation of the UN.

1989. The founding conference of the Taras Shevchenko Ukrainian Language Association was held.

February 12: 1991. Verkhovna Rada ratified a declaration On renewing the Crimean Autonomous Republic.
