Alcohol-Tobacco Association Created

An Association to Promote the Sales and Production of Alcohol and Tobacco Products has been established in Ukraine. It will help the manufacturers of these items do business and protect them from the arbitrary rule of officials and harassment on the part of fiscal and law enforcement agencies. This was announced by association president and manager of the Volyntiutiun (Volyn Tobacco) Company Oleksandr Sukhomlyn at the official presentation. According to him, the association plans to sign a special agreement with the State Committee of Ukraine for Special Monopolies on being granted the status of a non-governmental oversight body able to monitor all new standard-setting instruments drawn up by the Committee. In addition, the association will also assist producers in establishing distribution networks and conduct specialized stores to sell their wares. Mr. Sukhomlyn said the association already comprises over 100 entrepreneurial structures, reports Infobank.
