17 September, 17:56

Memorial plaque to Maksym Dobriansky, who was posthumously awarded Order for Courage (3rd Degree) by President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko on the eve of the Independence Day (August 24), has been unveiled at the 5th Shevchenko Humanities Gymnasium in Korostyshiv, Zhytomyr oblast, during the first bell festival in the school, the First Zhytomyr Information Portal reports.

Reserve Corporal Dobriansky was an operator in an antitank platoon of the 95th Airmobile Brigade. He heroically died on June 26 in defense of our country during shelling and assault on the 1st checkpoint near the village of Myrne, Sloviansk raion. The shelling was carried out with grenade launchers and tanks.

Dobriansky was born in 1988. He graduated from the 5th Humanities Gymnasium in Korostyshiv in 2005 and went on to study at the Interregional Academy of Personnel Management, majoring in law. He served in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, held civilian jobs, and was called back to active duty in March 2014. Unfortunately, Dobriansky never returned home, where his family (parents, sister, and sweetheart) and friends waited for him. He died defending our country and all of us. All his compatriots, older as well as younger, know it. Not only the current generation, but also the next generations of students at the school, where Dobriansky studied and where his memorial plaque has been unveiled, will know about a hero of our time, who sacrificed his life for peace in Ukraine and its territorial integrity.
