On the eve of the Milan Summit: all is so much synchronized…

15 October, 18:08

Tears seemed to well up in my eyes when I read this news.

Russia’s President Vladimir Putin has said that oppositionists and Moscow Patriarchate Orthodox Church figures are being “persecuted” in Ukraine. He stated this at a meeting of the Council for Human Rights in Russia in Moscow, BBC reports.

The Russian president doubts that the current parliamentary election campaign is going on in a democratic manner. In his words, “dissenters are being beaten up, humiliated, etc., at every step” in the course of it.

He also noted he cannot hold back tears when he looks at what is going on in Ukraine and called “alienation of the Ukrainian and Russian peoples” a tragedy. “We must overcome this situation… together with the Ukrainian authorities,” he noted.

All things are so much synchronized: a military mutiny attempts in Kyiv and Kharkiv, a group procession down Khreshchatyk St. to the Presidential Administration, an armed assault on the Verkhovna Rada, Vilkul’s film about Shufrych’s sufferings shown at the Council of Europe, and his statement about the Cabinet’s resignation, Putin’s tear-jerking scary stories about persecution of Russian Orthodox Church (Moscow Patriarchate) followers, loud declarations about the end war games and the withdrawal of troops, new Russian regiments to storm Donetsk airport, simulation of silence in the Donbas… And all this has been done within 3-4 days on the eve of the G20 and Milan summits. This is a calculation on the ignorance of world leaders and the effectiveness of his “TV troops.” No chance! But this does not please us. We should await still more cruel, mendacious, and bloody combinations.
