1919: In Zhmerynka (Ukraine) an interim agreement on joint struggle against Anton Denikin’s Volunteer Army is signed by the UNR Army and Nestor Makhno’s insurgent detachments.

1929: Date of birth of Ivan Svitlychny, Ukrainian poet, critic, essayist, translator, and dissident.

1944: Soviet forces, advancing on the Wehrmacht, enter Czechoslovakia.

1973: The Charter of the All-Union Agency on Copyrights (VAAP) is adopted as that of the USSR’s only copyright organization.
