A 20 centimeters tall bronze sculpture has been erected on the parapet of the Uzhhorod Pedestrian Bridge. It was created by Mykhailo Kolodko, already known as the author of St. Nicholas and the Statue of Liberty mini-sculptures which also stand on the bridge. The monument to the prominent Hungarian composer, who had visited Transcarpathia, was erected and unveiled exactly on May 7, 2012 to coincide with concert of the Budapest Philharmonic Orchestra that was held under the direction of Zoltan Kocsis in Uzhhorod on that day, the only event of the orchestra’s foreign tour to occur in the city. By the way, Kolodko and a famous confectioner Valentyn Shtefanio made a chocolate sculpture of Franz Liszt a few months ago, and recently it has been brought to Hungary.
