Last weekend Kyiv police cracked down on the Knyzhkovy (Book) Market retailers and confiscated nearly 11,300 pirated CDs and 2100 video tapes. According to the Ukrayinski Novyny news agency quoting the press service of the Kyiv office of the Internal Affairs Ministry, police have confiscated UAH 130,000 worth of bootleg products and the offenders will be fined for selling such knockoffs. The Sunday crackdown on retailers was carried out as part of a special Intellect Program to uncover and put an end to sales of pirated products.
