The Day's information
The Dumka Ukrainian national choir will mark its eightieth anniversary
on May 19 at the National Philharmonic Society. This concert, as well as
every performance of the choir, is sure to appeal to the tastes of the
most exacting connoissers of music. For the choir's repertory includes
Ukrainian and foreign a capella choral music and the most refined
and serious pieces of great vocal and symphonic forms. Last season alone,
Dumka performed Beethoven's Ninth Symphony, Verdi's Requiem,
and Haydn's Seasons. These virtuoso performances were crowned by
the choir's resounding success in Switzerland and France, conducted by
the People's Artist of Ukraine and winner of many other honors Yevhen Savchuk.
In general, the choir's itinerary crosses various continents, but performances
in Kyiv are, of course, dearest to the singers' hearts.
