The open championship in Paris, France last week end was a total success for Ukrainian sportsmen. Elena Vitrychenko won the gold medal in artistic gymnastics and her main competitor at the recent Deryhina Cup Yana Batyrshina of Russia was awarded the bronze. Another Ukrainian gymnast, Inha Shkarupa won the gold medal in athletic gymnastics and ex-Russian Dmytro Karbanenko, now competing for France, dominated the male competition. In the team summary Ukraine took second place after Russia.
