Third time in a raw, starting from 1996 Denys Sylantiev of Zaporizhzhia, Ukraine won the male butterfly swimming race. He did not even have to go to Paris to the final stage of the World Cup 1998, having scored enough points before. And 15 year old Dynamo club swimmer from Simferopol Yana Klochkova won her first gold medal in complex swimming by winning 400 meters race in Imperia, Italy and setting the new record for Ukraine 4:35.93.
