Credit Support to Agrarian Sector

In 1997, more than sixty joint stock companies, private enterprises, other legal and natural persons, engaged in agro-industrial complex of Ukraine, received a credit support of the Pravex-Bank. In all, Hr 19 millions and about US $ 2.1 millions were allocated to finance agrarian projects. The interest rates on credits were reduced several times during the year. Establishing of poultry farming enterprise on the basis of Borky research farm of the Institute of Poultry (Ukrainian Academy of Agrarian Science) may exemplify an interesting investment project, which is now being implemented.
As of the beginning of 1998, the credit portfolio of the Pravex-Bank was to about Hr 70 millions. Almost 30% of the total credit sum of were granted to the Agro-Industrial Complex.
