New Year’s Strauss Concert in Kyiv Operetta
Large-scale art event, that has not yet had analogues in Ukraine, will take place on December 29
The program of the New Year’s Strauss Concert includes works by prominent composers from the Strauss family – father and his sons. Some musical pieces will be performed for the first time in Ukraine.
“We invite the audience to the music night where the best musical pieces composed by Strauss family will be performed. For some of them we had to receive copyright from Vienna (it was provided specially for our theater) – it was the result of two years of negotiations and correspondence with the heirs of Strauss family,” said Bohdan STRUTYNSKY, artistic director of the National Operetta and the concert director.
Conductor Oksana Madarash noted that “music made by the famous Strauss family is very difficult to perform and requires great skill, but it always creates a special mood.” Music pieces by the family of the king of waltz Johann Strauss, many of which will be performed for the first time in Ukraine, will surprise with the diverse styles of performance. Comic, avant-garde acts with interactive elements will create an unforgettable New Year’s celebration for the audience. Leading soloists, ballet, choir, and symphony orchestra will perform at the concert in Kyiv Operetta.
