Celebration of the 10th anniversary of publishing Ukraine Incognita – first book from The Day’s Library series, took place on Catholic Christmas Eve, December 24 in bookstore “Ye” in Kyiv. Despite abnormal snow blizzard and cold (which resulted in record traffic jams in the streets of Kyiv), many well-known journalists, historians, writers, and literary critics, who contributed to the publishing of Ukraine Incognita, as well as the readers of the newspaper came to the bookstore. Therefore, anniversary that is so important for The Day became an occasion for discussion meeting. The issues discussed during the night helped to compare the vision of the current situation by all of its participants and to analyze what happened in the life of the country and every Ukrainian in the last decade. What issues did the book raise and why is it still relevant nowadays? Participants tried to soberly assess the amount of work done already and reflect together on what else should be done, each in his own sector of responsibility.

“In the past I used to go to political rallies. I thought that if I wouldn’t go, nobody would and that I couldn’t stay indifferent. But now it became clear to me that the main thing is to have true ideological ‘rally’ in the minds of ordinary Ukrainians and this will be more effective. That is why I just had to come to this meeting. There is a great atmosphere here, we had a pleasant and open discussion,” said Svitlana HYRICH, The Day’s pensioner. “The book Ukraine Incognita is extremely interesting. This is the book that needs no flattering words. Anyone who will take it in his hands will understand the weight of each word.”
