All are invited to dance!

The International Dance Festival Competition The Rainbow Terpsichore-2013 will invite Kyivites and guests of the capital to come and see the lively and colorful event on the eve of the International Dance Day. The festival will start on April 27, with the professional dancers and amateurs marching down the Khreshchatyk, Kyiv’s main street.

The event will feature over 600 participating dance ensembles from Lithuania, Poland, Russia and Ukraine that will present various ethnic dances for the public and renowned jury to evaluate. The jury’s foreman is Myroslav Vantukh, the chairman of the National Choreographers’ Union of Ukraine. The festival will end on April 28 with a gala concert in the assembly hall of the National Academy of Music, featuring performances by the competition’s winners and the event’s special guests and friends, pupils of the Virsky National Honored Academic Dance Ensemble of Ukraine’s choreographic school and famous folk choreography ensemble Sonechko.

Let us recall that the dance forum has been established at the initiative of the National Choreographers’ Union of Ukraine and with the support of Kyiv City State Administration, aiming to support and develop amateur art and cultural traditions of all Ukrainian citizens, to strengthen peace, friendship and mutual understanding between different ethnic groups, to promote spiritual development of the younger generation and popularize the best examples of national and international choreography.
