Dear Editor:

The English version of the book Day and Eternity of James Mace contains my recollections. In some places the English translation of my text is incorrect. Thus, instead of “He analyzed the UN resolution of the crime against humanity perpetrated by the Soviet government in Ukraine (1948) and convincingly proved that it was an act of genocide by all international standards” (which is incorrect), it should be stated: “After analyzing the resolution on an act of genocide, adopted by the UN in 1948, the speaker proved that the crime perpetrated by the communist regime conformed to the universally accepted definition of genocide.”

I believe that the Editors of your newspaper, who have published both versions of the collection commemorating your deceased colleague, must make this retraction public knowledge. I am convinced that this gesture will only add to your newspaper’s image.
