A “concentrate” of spring

They are not just gathered in one place, at the Spivoche Pole (Singing field) where the traditional tulip exhibition “Colors of Spring” has opened, but also form most amazing designs on the Pechersk hills’ slopes. This year, the underlying theme of the exhibition is ethnic ornamental art. Landscape designers have based their projects on the theme of drop, which is found in ornaments of just about every ethnic group all over the world, exemplified by the Petrykivka painting tradition in Ukraine, so-called “cucumber style” in Turkey, and cross-stone in China...

This exhibition is a true paradise for lovers of flowers, bright colors, and spring. Tulips’ quantity is really impressive, and they are all so different that everyone will be definitely able to find some unknown varieties. The exhibition’s total area is 3,000 square meters, all covered with 300,000 tulips of different colors and varieties. They include lily-flowered, fringed, double, early, middle and late varieties. Primary colors are yellow, red, white, purple, pink, and their various shades.

The exhibition “Colors of Spring,” organized by Kyiv Greenery utility and supported by the Kyiv City State Administration, will run until May 11 daily from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Ticket price is 25 hryvnias, but children under seven years, retirees, World War II veterans, and people with special needs are admitted for free.
