“Apothecary Garden” on Andriivsky Uzviz
Ukrainian designers conquer the West without leaving Ukraine![](/sites/default/files/main/openpublish_article/20061212/440-2-4.jpg)
A new boutique, Atelier-1, opened at Vozdvyzhensky Hotel on Andriivsky Uzviz this weekend. Under the creative guidance of Oxford Media Business School’s leading design instructor David Foley this store will attract customers with garments created by the well-known designer Lilia Pustovit and her young and promising colleague Volodymyr Podolian.
David Foley came to Ukraine a couple of years ago and discovered collections by several Ukrainian designers which he described as highly artistic. A year ago, the capital’s Alta Center opened the first multibrand boutique Atelier-1. The number of customers eager to buy creations by Ukrainian fashion moguls turned out considerably greater than anticipated. More customers requires larger premises and scale of business. The site of the new boutique was chosen specially on Andriivsky Uzviz which is creative Kyiv’s calling card - as are garments designed by Lilia Pustovit.
The boutique’s interior can be briefly described as richly refined, with blinds on the windows, comfortable armchairs, and fresh flowers everywhere. Unlike last year’s British mansion interior, this time the flowers are meant by David Foley’s team to create the atmosphere of a blossoming garden. An apothecary one.
