Fifth Security Forum opens on April 19 in Kyiv

“Democracy – a notion or a value? Role of democratization in global security processes.”

This will be the main subject of the two-day Kyiv Security Forum (KSF), which is held in the Ukraine’s capital for the fifth time.

The press service reported that the participants of the forum will focus on discussing global security trends, welfare and democracy issues, they will determine the role of the European Union in the regional development and will discuss the future of the EU as a key factor of the regional stability.

They will also consider the role of Ukraine in global and regional security processes. According to the organizers, the Forum will be attended by Foreign Minister of the Czech Republic Karel Schwarzenberg, his colleague – the former minister of France Bernard Kouchner, Deputy Prime Minister of Georgia Giorgi Baramidze, and member of the EU-Ukraine Committee Pawel Kowal.

More than 400 senior officials, prominent politicians, analysts, experts, businessmen, representatives of civil society and mass media from Ukraine and the countries of the Black Sea-Caspian region, the European Union, and the United States will participate in the Kyiv Security Forum.
