1700: Tsarist Russia and the Ottoman Empire sign the Treaty of Constantinople (Istanbul), whereby Russia takes possession of the northern coast of the Sea of Azov and the Azov Fortress, with the fortifications in the lower reaches of the Dnipro to be dismantled.

1701: Mykola Zakrevsky, Ukrainian historian, ethnologist, and writer, dies.

1913: The Treaty of Bucharest is signed, ending the Second Balkan War, with Bulgaria losing almost all previously appropriated territories.

1920: The Treaty of Trianon is signed between the Allies of WW I and Hungary, among other things allowing Romania to take possession of Transylvania and Bukovyna.

1964: The CC of the CPSU and the Council of Ministers of the USSR adopt a resolution changing the duration of instruction at the secondary schools with production training.
