Ukrainian Handicapped Children Restore Health in Turkey
On June 17, a group of girls formed by the All-Ukrainian Hope and Goodwill Charity Fund arrived for a month’s vacation in Turkey. The group consists of disabled children from Kyiv oblast that have been affected by the Chornobyl disaster. As Interfax-Ukraine learned from the Internal Affairs Ministry press service, starting on Monday June 17 the children will have a chance to restore their health at a summer camp in a prestigious district of Istanbul on the Sea of Marmora coast. The cultural and rehabilitation program includes sporting events, hydrotherapy, sightseeing in Istanbul, as well as Ukrainian-Turkish concerts and soirees organized by handicapped children of both countries. This annual event that has become a tradition would not have been possible without the backing of the All-Ukrainian Hope and Goodwill Charity Fund, the Istanbul city fathers, and Ukraine’s diplomatic offices in Turkey. In July the Istanbul authorities are planning to receive another group of Ukrainian children, boys affected by the Chornobyl disaster.
