Odesa version
Residents in the Rozdilniansky electoral district No. 143, and, in particular, the staff of School No. 2 in Liubashivka sent a letter to the former head of Naftohaz Ukrayiny National Company, Ihor Bakai, asking him to run for Parliament in the by-election due to be held in their district soon. The meeting of the school staff also approved an appeal to Mr. Bakai urging him to complete the construction of a gas pipeline linking Ananyiv and Izmayil and of a gas network in the Rayon capital, Liubashivka. As the meeting of voters took place well ahead of the official campaign kickoff, Ihor Bakai has time to weigh the voters’ request.
Recall that that last year Serhiy Hrynevetsky, gave up his seat in Verkhovna Rada when appointed Odesa oblast governor. And now rumor has it that former Premier Valery Pustovoitenko is also eyeing his chances for Parliament in the same district. As the Oblast Council Secretariat head, Mykola Bishniaha, told The Day, “There is no information in the Oblast Council on the meeting of voters in the district No. 143. The Rozdilniansky district election commission is to be set up on April 21 and will start work on May 6.” The voting district in Odesa oblast is the second after a district in the Zhytomyr oblast where Pustovoitenko and Bakai are to lock horns in their fight for a People’s Deputy mandate.
