Demanded by Left Center

People's Deputies of the Left Center faction have requested the Prosecutor General, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Director of the SBU (Ukrainian Security Service) to open a criminal case and conduct an investigation into facts widespread in the media relating to economic damage caused to Ukraine by Israeli citizen Vadym Rabynovych, Interfax Ukraine reports. The Left Center also accuses Mr. Rabynovych of encroachment on the constitutional order in Ukraine and provoking ethnic strife.

The deputies mentioned that the SBU had imposed the ban on Rabynovych entering Ukraine based on considerations of national security. «But there was no follow-up. The Prosecutor General's Office, SBU, and Ministry of Internal Affairs avoid initiating criminal cases based on the facts of economic damage caused to Ukraine» reads the statement released by the faction's press center.

The deputies view such a position by law enforcement structures as «their virtually covering up the relations of the shadow international business with the President's entourage and the incumbent President himself, their deliberate suppression of the truth about the extent of Ukraine's being plundered and of the corruption of the current authorities.»

As was reported earlier, the SBU prohibited R. C. Group Holding President and Chairman of the All-Ukrainian Jewish Congress Vadym Rabynovych from entering Ukraine from June 24 for a five year period in conjunction with information obtained concerning his involvement in «activity causing significant damage to the Ukrainian economy, and for the sake of the country's national security.»
