PATRIARCH UDOVENKO PASSES ON POST TO YOUNGER HANDS

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Hennady Udovenko announced his resignation because of his election to Parliament. An exemplary gesture of a law-abiding citizen, because the Constitution forbids top level double dipping.

His most probable successor is , Ukraine’s current Ambassador to the Benelux states and head of the Ukrainian mission to NATO.

Udovenko will retain chairmanship of the 52nd UN General Assembly Session until the beginning of September. It has been established that in Parliament Mr. Udovenko will expect to sit next to the Speaker as a result of inter-faction consultations and compromise.
