Three New Planes Trying to Save Whole Aircraft Industry
24 марта, 00:00
This year, three types of planes, An-140, An-70 and Tu-334 will be put into commercial production, said Valery Shmarov, president of the state association Ukraviaprom (Ukrainian Aviation Industry), in a press conference at the Kharkiv aircraft factory. Because of inadequate financing, only two models are currently produced on a commercial basis in Ukraine, An-32B and An-74, he said. At the same time, air passenger transport resources are exhausted by 50 to 90%. The aircraft fleet has not been replenished since last year. And, taking account for the population's insolvency, the transportation of passengers and cargoes decreased 6.5 and 2.5 times respectively over the last six years.
