UKRAINE AIRLINES BELIEVES IN PRIVATIZATION UNDER PRESIDENTIAL SPONSORSHIP

Serhiy Maliutin, President of Ukraine Airlines, speaking at a news conference in commemoration of the 75th anniversary of Ukraine's civil aviation, confirmed the rumors about the Ukrainian origin of funds expected to be invested in this state company from the United States.
He refused to identify the investor but admitted that this investor had corresponded and even met with the President of Ukraine who is likely to make the final decision.
Mr. Maliutin also stated that the Ministry of Transport had decided on adjustments in the aircraft industry. Local airlines, including Zhuliany (Kyiv), will become completely independent and are in the process of registering the relevant documents. Ukraine Airlines will be cut back to Boryspil Airport with its headquarters on Prospekt Peremohy.
