11 декабря, 15:09

Ukrainian women’s national biathlon team including the Semerenko sisters, Olena Pidhrushna, and Yulia Dzhyma came second in the relay race of the second leg of the World Biathlon Cup, which has recently ended in Austrian town of Hochfilzen. The gold went to Norwegian biathletes, including the matchless Tura Berger, an Olympic champion and four-time world champion, a winner of numerous world competitions. Russians took bronze according to the results of the competition. Incidentally, Ukrainian athletes made only four mistakes at eight shooting lanes. Russian biathletes had the same results, but the Ukrainians were faster. However, the beginning of the relay race did not promise any triumph for Ukraine: the Semerenko sisters’ performance placed Ukraine tenth after two legs of the event. However, later Yulia Dzhyma and Olena Pidhrushna considerably improved the results and won silver. As for the analogical event for men, Norway won the gold again, and the Ukrainian national team came tenth.
