Exhibition of ruler’s hats opened in Royal Chambers at Lviv Historical Museum
Exhibition of hats, worn by rulers from different epochs and continents, opened in Royal Chambers at Lviv Historical Museum (6, Rynok Square).
Organizers of the exhibition told The Day that the central artifact of the exhibition is the crown of the supreme ruler of Maya (Halach Uinic). Besides, Lviv residents and tourists will get a chance to see the hats of Napoleon, emperors of the Russian Empire, royal crowns, including the crown of Danylo Halytsky.
The exhibition also features models of the crowns that belonged to Nefertiti, Tutankhamen, kings of Sumer (historical region in southern Mesopotamia, now – South of Iraq) and Assyria (ancient Semitic state in northern Mesopotamia, now – the northern area of Iraq), the Byzantine Empire and the Roman Empire, rulers of civilizations of Aztecs, Incas, miters of church bishops, and other interesting exhibits.
Overall the exhibition includes 50 hats, some of which are originals, and some are copies of exhibits kept in museums in Austria, Italy, the United Kingdom, Romania, and Egypt.
