Gift for the East Partnership Summit
Wikipedia has announced the EU article writing competition
The Ukrainian-language Wikipedia has been holding the EU article writing and improving competition, announced by NGO “Wikimedia Ukraine.” The competition’s purpose is to improve Ukrainians’ understanding of the EU’s history, geography, government (including institutions, agencies, laws and policies), economy and finance, culture, theories dealing with the union’s development, and individual leaders of the EU.
The intellectual competition is open to articles created or significantly improved during the competition month. Winners will be divided into two categories, with prizes and gifts for the best article going to authors of individual finished entries, and prizes and gifts for the best contribution bestowed upon those who will make largest-size and highest-quality contributions.
About 50 new entries have been written since the contest started, but everybody is welcome to join the competition before it ends on November 16, and even to win it. “I see this competition as a gift of sorts from the Wikipedia editorial community for the Eastern Partnership Summit in Vilnius this November,” the coordinator of the competition, executive director of Wikimedia Ukraine Yurii Perohanych said.
