Back to our good old symbols

They say that when one spots a shooting star, one can make a wish and expect it to be fulfilled. The disappearance of the Red Army ideograms from the Verkhovna Rada’s spire is like a shooting-star wish fulfilled.

Hopefully it means that we are back to our good old symbols. Never was a five-pointed star used when painting Easter eggs or the walls of village homes, although this star is present in the national emblems of various countries and tops the domes of numerous churches.

We don’t mind its presence because it is their national choice, but we want our Tryzub and our Cross, and we will keep them. This is our legacy. We do not want or intend to reject anyone’s ideals. We have our own ideals and we will have our graphic symbols that will add to the world’s creative treasure-trove.
