A true lady...

Seventy-year-old Kateryna Apolinariivna is undergoing military training in Zhydachiv, Lviv oblast. “This lady came to be trained as a cook, but when she saw assault rifles being handed out to participants, she asked to be given one. She thus became a participant in a two-day training course. All the participants and instructors were shocked and fascinated by this ‘granny,’ as she was called. She would run, squat, crawl, and do all that the instructors said,” says Taras Peniak, the author of the photographs that show Ms. Kateryna doing all the exercises on a par with other participants. These photos swarmed social websites in a day and triggered a strong positive reaction.
