How to have both useful and enjoyable time on holidays? Cultural and Educational Center “Master-Class” organized art camp for school students, where during The Day teachers, artists, and choreographers worked with children in following areas: fine arts, arts and crafts, graphics, clay modeling, glass painting, and choreography.

The children in the art camp were taken on a “trip to various countries and continents.” According to the head of the art workshop Alevtyna Aliokhina, in winter time kids are very interested in Christmas and New Year’s celebration traditions in different countries. In previous classes students already “traveled” to Finland famous for lots of snow and winter resorts.

Artist Liubov Senchuk showed the students examples of winter landscapes of this country and the kids reproduced them on their own. According to Senchuk, the task is pretty challenging because children use gouache, watercolor, and oil in their work. With such combination of artistic tools one can draw a very beautiful landscape.

School students of age 7 to 8, who can perform a certain task of the artist, are involved in fine arts. For the younger kids, those aged from 2 and older, another kind of developmental workshop, more dynamic and short is offered here. For the most part these are lessons on which children make a variety of decorations and toys. As the teachers say, it is not difficult to come up with a topic as nearly all techniques have become available.

Children who are involved in the work of “Master-Class” are either talented or “very talented and very curious.” Some of them work with painting regularly, but for most it is a chance to benefit from spending their leisure time in an interesting way, to develop their talents, and to interact with other kids and adults.

As a rule, the art camp lasts for nearly two weeks. At the end of the camp an exhibition of kids’ works is set in the Center. There is also a concert held, where all the children participate. During the celebration students of the art camp treat their parents with cookies they made on their own: it is baked in the cafe that operates on the territory of the Cultural and Educational Center.

In workshops organized in “Master-Class” children learned to dance. Choreograph Mykhailo Kryvchuk taught the students of art workshop about the art of Indian dance, which he learned in India. Children together with teachers prepared costumes for the big concert – a real dance show was presented for the parents.

Children have classes in a building where art exhibitions take place and paintings by real artists are presented. The creative atmosphere and communication with artists shapes new talents.
